How to get a map
Maps are physical items that must be bought or earned. They show geography rather than filling the screen with quest icons, so learning roads and placing markers remains part of exploration.
Buy the cheaper Colony map from Dexter
Dexter works in the cloth-covered market on the southern side of the Old Camp. Follow the path around the castle from the north entrance. His Colony map costs about 24 ore.
Find Graham by the north gate
Graham's shack is beside the Old Camp north gate. During the day he may stand near the nearby cooking cauldron. He sells both the Colony map and a detailed Old Camp map.
Decide whether you need the Old Camp map
Graham's Old Camp map costs about 35 ore. It helps during the first hours, but the camp is compact enough that many players should save the ore for armor, training, or lockpicks.
Camp routes and dangerous areas
Treat camps as navigation anchors and dangerous areas as information. If a route is punishing, mark it for later and return prepared.
Camp routes
The Old Camp is the first major hub. The New Camp is west beside the large lake, while the Swamp Camp lies farther away on a dangerous route best travelled with an NPC escort such as Baal Parvez.
Dangerous areas
Dangerous areas should teach route discipline and return-later thinking instead of pushing players into bad fights.
Quest location planning
Place markers for remote homes, mine entrances, cave objectives, and NPC meeting points. Important characters follow schedules, so a correct location may still appear empty at the wrong time of day.
Useful NPC location anchors
Important NPCs follow schedules, but a few stable areas make the first search much faster. Check during daylight and ask nearby characters when a named contact is away.
Old Camp southern market
Fisk, Dexter, Mordrag, and Torrez are tied to the cloth-covered market area around the southern side of the Old Camp. Use the castle wall and market awnings as the main visual anchors.
Old Camp trainers
Diego stays near the castle entrance, Scatty works around the fighting pit, and Fingers lives in an elevated hut along the inner wall. Their daily movement can shift the exact standing point.
Remote contacts
Lester is first found around the Swamp Camp entrance, Cavalorn lives east of the Old Camp, and Cronos works inside the New Camp cave. Mark these locations after the first visit.
Location-heavy guides
Use the trainer directory for remote teachers, faction guides for camp routes, the Lost Apprentice for the Abandoned Mine, and the travel guide for the Scavenger mount and Chapter 3 teleport runes.

FAQ
Where can I buy a map in Gothic 1 Remake?
Buy a Colony map from Dexter in the southern Old Camp market or buy Colony and Old Camp maps from Graham beside the north gate. Dexter's Colony map is usually cheaper.
Does this site have an interactive map?
Yes. The site now includes a Khorinis interactive map for searchable static markers, while the main map guide explains how to buy the in-game Colony and Old Camp maps, use manual markers, and navigate between camps.
When does fast travel unlock?
General teleport travel begins in Chapter 3. Cor Angar gives the first broadly useful camp teleport rune after the Orc cemetery sequence, and more destination runes appear later.
How do I unlock the Scavenger mount?
Follow Cavalorn's early quest, protect the orphaned Scavenger, then complete An Unusual Companion by feeding and spending careful walking time with it before reporting back to Cavalorn.
