Prepare for Old Camp admission

Diego introduces the Old Camp route soon after arrival, but formal admission needs experience and support. Work around the outer ring before asking Thorus to open the castle.

Reach level 5

Complete nearby quests and safe combat until level 5. Admission will not advance properly if you rush the castle interview without meeting the level requirement.

Ask Diego about influential people

Diego points you toward camp figures whose recommendations matter. Their quests also teach the market, arena, theft systems, and outer-ring politics.

Keep a pre-faction save

You can complete work for all camps before joining one. Keep a manual save before the final Shadow offer if you still want to compare the New Camp or Swamp Camp routes.

Complete Diego's recommendation tasks

The five main contacts are Sly, Fingers, Whistler, Scatty, and Dexter. You need enough successful support; a less-than-perfect outcome in one task does not automatically end the route.

Help Sly and impress Fingers

Investigate Sly's Vanished Guard task and complete the thievery demonstration expected by Fingers. Bring the result back to each contact instead of assuming the journal update is enough.

Work for Whistler and Scatty

Whistler's Conspicuous Man task revolves around a market purchase, while Scatty evaluates your handling of Kharim at the arena. Make a save before choosing an aggressive solution.

Recover Dexter's forgotten recipe

Dexter's task sends you after a missing recipe. Finish the objective and return directly to him so his recommendation is counted before you ask Diego for the final test.

Complete the Test of Faith

Thorus and Diego send you to the Old Mine for Ian's supply list. This document is also the critical branching item for New Camp admission.

Get Ian's supply list

Travel to the Old Mine, reach Ian, and use Diego's countersign to receive the list. Carry healing and make a manual save before the mine journey.

Choose Diego or Lares first

For the Old Camp route, return the original list to Diego. If you still want the New Camp option, show the original to Lares first and only then bring Diego the altered version.

Return to Diego and Thorus

After the test and enough recommendations, speak with Diego and then Thorus. The castle route opens so you can meet the Ore Barons.

Pass Gomez's interview and join

Save before speaking with Gomez. The conversation rewards loyalty and useful connections, while a weak claim can end the audience violently.

Lead with loyalty

Choose the answer that presents you as loyal to the camp and useful to its leadership. Do not challenge Gomez or treat the meeting as casual conversation.

Name powerful contacts

Use the Water Mages, Y'Berion and his followers, and the Ore Barons as examples of influential people you know. Avoid saying that you have no powerful friends.

Accept the Shadow path

After Gomez accepts you, return through the camp leadership dialogue and confirm the faction choice. Becoming a Shadow closes the other two camp admission routes for this playthrough.

What level do I need to join the Old Camp?

Reach level 5, earn enough support from Diego's influential contacts, complete the Test of Faith, and then speak with Diego and Thorus about entering the castle.

Whose approval helps me join the Old Camp?

The main approval tasks come from Sly, Fingers, Whistler, Scatty, and Dexter. You need enough successful recommendations rather than a perfect result in every task.

What should I say to Gomez?

Can I join more than one camp?

No. You can work around all three camps before committing, but accepting a final faction invitation prevents joining the other camps in the same playthrough.
